In Crescent Township, the only contest is for the one open seat on the board of commissioners. Incumbent Diane Cvengros and newcomer Peggi Schofield are both seeking the Republican nomination for the four-year term.

Moon Township has no contested races this primary.

For Moon Area School Board, five candidates—incumbents Jerry Testa and Jeffrey C. Bussard, and newcomers Michael A. Hauser, James F. Donohue and Scott E. LaRue—have crossfiled on both the Republican and Democratic tickets for the four open seats.

For Montour School Board, incumbent Ronald William Smith and newcomer Darrell Young have crossfiled on both tickets for the one open seat representing Region 1 for a four-year term representing Ingram, Thornburg, Pennsbury Village and Robinson Districts 1 and 8.

Incumbent Matt Drozd will face challenger Tom Baker in the race to win the Republican nod for the Allegheny County Council District 1 seat. Daniel A. McClain Jr. is running unopposed on the Democratic ticket for the county council seat.
