Reports: State Agency Orders Moon Area Student Back to Classroom After Suspension

The Pennsylvania Office of Dispute Resolution has ordered the Moon Area School District to reverse a third-grader's suspension from the classroom for biting an elementary teacher, the Beaver County Times reports. 

The agency ordered that the student be returned from the classroom rather than serve out a 45-day suspension for injuring a teacher after throwing a tantrum. 

The Times reports that the elementary school building, and names of the teacher and student involved were not included in the report.

The district moved to suspend the student after he or she bit a teacher on the arm, causing the teacher to seek medical treatment including a Tetanus shot.

Following a fact-finding hearing, the agency decided the injury was not severe enough to merit the suspension.
