Police Activity In Newtown: 3 In Custody After Ramming Police Car At Wawa
The three suspects are now facing multiple felony charges, according to the Newtown Township Police Department.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Three suspects are in custody and facing eight felony charges after ramming a police vehicle with their car following an incident at the Truist Bank on the Newtown Bypass on Wednesday.
According to police, officers observed suspicious activity outside of the bank on Campus Drive around 12:30 p.m. Police determined a fraud was in progress inside the bank, while a vehicle involved had already fled the scene.
Police broadcast a description of the vehicle over police radio. The vehicle was then located at the Wawa parking lot on Lower Silver Lake Road.

As officers attempted to speak with the occupants of the car, the driver rammed a Newtown Township police vehicle in an attempt to flee. When the attempt was unsuccessful, the occupants fled on foot into a wooded area across the street, police said.
Officers from across Bucks County responded to assist in the search, including Warrington, the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, Lower Makefield, Solebury, Middletown Township, Bucks County Park Police, Yardley Borough, Lower Southampton, and the Newtown Borough police departments.

The departments also assisted with K9 searches and drone operations.
As a result of the search, three suspects were taken into custody and are being charged. No injuries were reported to any officers or suspects during the incident. The individuals taken into custody are facing a combination of eight felony charges, police said.
