Dirt Bikes Stolen, DUI Charges Pending: Newtown Township Police Report

While investigating the false activation of a burglar alarm, police arrested an individual who had a warrant out for their arrest.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Dec. 7 and 11:

December 7

  • At 8:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the reported theft of dirt bikes. The incident is under investigation.

  • At 10:15 a.m., police received the report of a bicycle theft that occurred the week prior. The total value of loss was $400.

December 10

  • At 12:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Civic for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Penns Trail. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

  • At 10:15 a.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township business for a burglar alarm activation. Police discovered that the alarm activation was false, but did speak with a subject who had a warrant from the East Pikeland Township Police Department. The subject was taken into custody and transferred without incident.
