WRIGHTSTOWN, PA — After being closed for more than a year, the Wycombe Tavern & Grille will reopen its doors on Friday, May 30 with a brand new menu and a "rustic vibe and feel."

The Diaz-Albertini family, which owns Casa Toro Mexican restaurants in Doylestown and Coopersburg, acquired the historic tavern earlier this year at 1073 Mill Creek Road and have transformed it into a spot where "history meets modern dining."

The newest addition to the Bucks County dining scene will spotlight American Italian tavern fare crafted by chefs Pete Jones and Kurt Saracini to reflect the Wycombe's rich character and ambiance.

The chefs will be smoking their own ribs, wings and chicken thighs and, coming soon, making their own pizza dough. They will also be making their own gelatos.

Lunch and dinner items will include wings and tenders, handheld sandwiches, Angus burgers, tavern soups and handcrafted greens, several seafood entrees including a salmon Florentine and fish of the day, tavern fare featuring fish and chips, ribs, tacos and brisket sliders, and pastas dishes, including tortellini, Alfredo and Bolognese.

Some of the tavern's signature items include the Wycombe Burger (a classic burger topped with cooper sharp American), the Cousin Vinny (a handheld made with house roasted pork, broccoli rabe and sharp provolone served on a long roll with Romesco on the side), and the Wycombe Wedgie (iceberg lettuce, Danish Blue Cheese, crumbled bacon, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, shaved red onion and blue cheese dressing).

Other tavern features include Corn Ribs, Turkey Balls, Jersey Shore Shrimp, Chef Pete's Anchor Chili, Colorado Chicken, and an eight ounce grilled petite Steakhouse Tender.

And don't miss the Southern Triple (smoked ribs, smoked BBQ bone-in chicken thighs and glazed bacon-wrapped shrimp served with Jalapeno cornbread and a sideline).

The tavern also offers a children's menu with a choice of a cheeseburger slider and fries, pasta with butter or marinara, chicken tenders and fries, riblets and fries, mac and cheese and grilled cheese and fries.

Hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 11 :30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The tavern is closed on Mondays. Reservations are required for parties of five or more. For information, call 215-827-0177.

The Wycombe has been a beloved part of the village since the 1890s when it began as the Wycombe Inn. Over the years, it has transformed into several establishments, including the Wycombe Pub & Grill, the Wycombe Publick House, and the Wycombe House.

Today, the Wycombe Tavern & Grille continues the tradition of welcoming diners, offering a warm atmosphere and attentive service. With a menu crafted to reflect its rich character and ambiance, it's a spot where history meets modern dining.
