Newtown Man Dead From Neck Laceration, Homicide Investigation Underway: Police

A suspect is in custody and a witness is being interviewed after the Friday morning incident, the Newtown Township Police Department said.

NEWTOWN, PA — After receiving a report of a man in cardiac arrest and finding him dead with a laceration to the neck, the Newtown Township Police Department is investigating his death as a homicide.

Police were dispatched to a David Drive home around 4:56 a.m. Friday, according to a news release. Officers had been told a man was in cardiac arrest.

When they arrived, police said, they found the man dead from a neck laceration.

A suspect has been taken into custody and a witness was brought to police headquarters for an interview, police said.

The Newtown Township Detectives and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said the investigation is active, and that the home has been secured as a crime scene.

"Updated information will be made once the investigation is completed and all family notifications are made," police wrote. "There are no safety issues in the immediate area."
