Silly Spoons Shutting Down Newtown Location

Since 2019, the South State Street business has been giving kids a chance to experience the culinary arts.

NEWTOWN, PA — Silly Spoons, which has been introducing kids to the culinary arts since 2019 in Newtown Borough through fun and learning, is closing its Newtown location.

Owner Renee Hanna announced the news in a social media posting on Monday.

“After many wonderful years filled with laughter, learning, and delicious creations, we are closing our Newtown location,” she wrote. “We want to express our deepest gratitude for all the cherished memories we’ve made together. Thank you for being a part of our journey!”

The doors to the Newtown location at 408 South State Street will close at the end of this year, according to Hanna. “All gift cards and credits are accepted at our Warrington location, where the magic continues! We look forward to creating more delicious memories together.”

Hanna, a Pennsbury teacher, opened the Newtown location in 2019 to bring a unique culinary experience to the community designed specifically for children.

“Silly Spoons is all about teaching and inspiring children to love the art of cooking through interactive classes designed to build confidence and to offer endless opportunities for learning and creativity,” she said in 2019.
