Suspected Narcotics Seized During 3 Traffic Stops: Newtown Township Police Report
In other reports, police charged three with multiple felonies following an incident at a township bank.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Nov. 26 and Dec. 4:
November 26
- Three individuals are facing eight felony charges after fleeing police following an incident at the Truist Bank on Campus Drive. A 12:30 p.m., officers on patrol observed suspicious activity outside the bank. Further investigation revealed a fraud had been committed inside the bank, while the vehicle involved had already fled the scene. Officers broadcast a description of the vehicle over police radio. A short time later, the vehicle was located at the Wawa on Lower Silver Lake Road. As officers attempted to speak with the occupants, the driver rammed a Newtown Township Police vehicle in an attempt to flee. When the attempt was unsuccessful, the occupants fled on foot into a wooded area across the street. Officers from across Bucks County responded to assist in a search, including Warrington, Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, Lower Makefield, Solebury, Middletown, Bucks County Park Police, Yardley Borough, Lower Southampton, and Newtown Borough. The departments also assisted with K9 searches and drone operations. As a result of the search, three subjects were taken into custody and were charged. No injuries were reported during this incident. The individuals taken into custody are facing a combined eight felony charges.
- While working with the Bucks County DUI Task Force in Bensalem, at 11:05 p.m. a Newtown Township police officer conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Chevrolet SUV for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Trevose Road and Dogwood Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

- At 1 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a gold GMC pick-up truck for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
- At approximately 4:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a BMW for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
November 30
- At 2:15 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a GMC for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. Upon speaking with the driver the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
- At 5 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Pontiac for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.

- At 12:15 p.m., police investigated the report of a stolen package from a Newtown Township residence. The total value of the loss was $103.
