Suspected Narcotics Seized During Traffic Stop: Newtown Twp. Police Report

During a second traffic stop, police arrested a driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following arrests and incidents between Nov. 21 and 25:

November 25

  • At 3:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Nissan sedan for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Lower Dolington Road and Newtown-Yardley Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
  • At 9:15 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a BMW driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Campus Drive and the Newtown Bypass. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
