Arrest Made In Norristown Teen's Shooting Death
A weeks-long manhunt that involved U.S. Marshals came to an end in Philadelphia Monday night.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A Norristown man wanted in the killing of a teenager in November was arrested in Philadelphia Monday night after months on the run, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday morning.
Ziyker Washington, 20, of Norristown, was found at a home in Philadelphia. He was taken into custody without incident by Pennsylvania State Police SWAT team.
It brings to an end a lengthy manhunt that began Nov. 30 after the killing of 19-year-old Hamid Boyd. Two others were taken into custody in the weeks following. Mark Fields, 18, of Norristown, was arrested on Dec. 12, while Theodore Adams, 17, of Philadelphia, was arrested on Dec. 16.

But Washington remained on the run, sparking a manhunt that involved U.S. Marshals and numerous state and local agencies.
“I want to thank the public for the numerous tips and assistance in getting this defendant in custody and off the streets," DA Kevin Steele said in a statement. "The murder of Hamid Boyd appears to have been caused by senseless feuding between two groups of young people that left one young man dead and now has put three others in prison."

Washington was charged with first degree murder along with Adams and Fields.
The trio were a part of a gang called "1200," which rivals a different gang called "The Ave," which Boyd was a part of, police said. Two days before the killing, the three posed for a social media photo on Washington's account with Washington holding a gun in the air and the caption reading "MAN (expletive) DA AVE,"authorities said.
On the afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 30, the three men were together at an apartment on Johnson Highway. Police said they left and drove in a white Chevrolet Cruze, owned by Washington's girlfriend, to the 1000 block of Powell Street.
That's where they shot Boyd several times as he walked home from the store, and then fled the scene and returned to the Johnson Highway apartment, the DA said.
Washington was arraigned Tuesday morning and booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 26.
