The figures are the mean (average) income as reported in the U.S. Census Bureau's most recent American Community Survey covering the five-year period from 2007-2011. There is a margin of error ranging up to 4.1 percent.

ROSS TOWNSHIP

  • The township's estimated 13,904 households have a mean income of $71,984.
  • An estimated 76 percent of households have earned income. For those 10,572 households, the mean earnings are $75,229.
  • An estimated 35.9 percent of households rely on Social Security money. For those 4,989 households, the mean income from Social Security is $17,759.
  • An estimated 22.8 percent of households rely on retirement income. For those 3,168 households, the mean income is $18,644.
  • An estimated 1.3 percent of households rely on Supplemental Security Income (disability). For those 184 households, the mean SSI income is $7,851.
  • An estimated 1.4 percent of households rely on public cash assistance income. For those 201 households, the mean public assistance income is $1,141.
  • An estimated 2.3 percent of households (325 total) received Food Stamp/SNAP benefits in the last 12 months.

WEST VIEW BOROUGH
  • The borough's estimated 2,973 households have a mean income of $61,244.
  • An estimated 81 percent of households have earned income. For those 2,429 households, the mean earnings are $61,488.
  • An estimated 28.1 percent of households rely on Social Security money. For those 835 households, the mean income from Social Security is $16,197.
  • An estimated 15.6 percent of households rely on retirement income. For those 463 households, the mean income is $17,679.
  • An estimated 3.1 percent of households rely on Supplemental Security Income (disability). For those 93 households, the mean SSI income is $8,888.
  • An estimated .8 percent of households rely on public cash assistance income. For those 24 households, the mean public assistance income is $192.
  • An estimated 6.4 percent of households (191 total) received Food Stamp/SNAP benefits in the last 12 months.
