North Hills Hockey Club to Hold Free Camp

North Hills High School Hockey Club will conduct a free youth hockey camp March 17, 20, 22 and 24 at DEK Star at 531 Mt. Nebo Road.

This camp will expand on the previous youth hockey clinics and skills building, with three one-hour sessions for each age group for youngsters, ages 4-15. Each session will work on the fundamentals of hockey, from stick handling to shooting to passing. All that is needed to participate is a hockey stick and a desire to play hockey. DEK hockey is a great way for a player to get started in hockey without the added cost associated with ice hockey or the addition of learning how to skate. DEK hockey is also an affordable way to sharpen hockey skills while learning game play and teamwork. With help from DEK Star, the group is able to offer this opportunity in partnership with the . North Hills High School Hockey Club coaches and players, and coaches from DEK Star, will be instructors for the clinics.

Ages/Times:

6 and younger (at least 4 years old as of date of program):

8-9 a.m. March 17, 5-6 p.m. March 20 and 8-9 a.m. March 24.

9 and younger:

9-10 a.m. March 17, 5-6 p.m. March 22  and 9-10 a.m. March 24. 

12 and younger:

10-11 a.m. March 17, 6-7 p.m. March 20 and 10 -11 a.m. March 24.

15 and younger:

11 a.m. to noon March 17, 6-7 p.m. March 22 and 11 a.m. to noon March 24.

Founded in 1973, the North Hills High School Hockey Club offers student athletes in grades one through 12 the opportunity to play at the varsity, junior varsity, freshman and developmental levels.
