Residents' Complaints about Auto Dealership Service Center Gets Attention of Ross Commissioners

Residents living near the North Hills Toyota Service Center on Brown's Lane complained about noise, particularly at night.

When Davis Toyota converted the old Amaraca grocery store on Brown's Lane in Ross Township into a vehicle service center, it signed an agreement with the township regarding activities at night.

Even though the dealership is now called North Hills Toyota, the agreement is still enforceable, said Ross Commission President Grant Montgomery.

"There was an agreement that still stands now for North Hills Toyota in which they would conduct certain exercises at certain times of the night," he said.

Residents living near the service center recently complained to Ross commissioners that the agreement is not being kept, particularly when it comes to the late night unloading of car-carrier trucks.

Montgomery said he's heard enough.

"So we need to determine what they are doing, and straighten in out," he said. "They have a written agreement with us, and it's pretty easily enforced."

The issue came to light when residents expressed concerns about more noise and traffic with the sale of the old Northway Elementary School to the new developers of Northway Mall.
