, in cooperation with AARP, is offering free tax preparation assistance for North Hills residents with fairly straightforward tax returns.

Assistance is offered from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 2 through April 12 on a first-come, first-served basis. A signup sheet is located outside the lower library entrance.
Be sure to bring all your W2s and any paperwork showing deductions that might be requested, as well as any other relevant documentation.Â

If you're interested in learning how to file your taxes online, the Carnegie Library is offering a free seminar Downtown from 12:15 p.m. to 1 pm. Thursday, Feb. 2. The seminar is called "How to file your taxes onlineusing an IRS e-file provider," presented by Diana Smith, a tax specialist with the IRS Pittsburgh office.Â
