West View Police Blotter: A Burglary and Vehicle Break-ins
The West View Police Department supplied the following information, which covers notable incidents between Jan. 1 and Jan. 12.

Tuseday, Jan. 3
Police responded to a report of a break-in in the 100 block of Columbia Avenue. Sometime during the day, while the homeowner was at work, someone broke a front window in the house, entered and took three flat-screen televisions, a laptop computer and a checkbook.

Just after midnight, police responded to a call near Danny's Bar and Grill in the 1500 block of Center Avenue for a report of a theft from a vehicle. A GPS unit was reported missing.
During the same call, a second victim approached the police to report that his vehicle also had been entered. Nothing was reported missing.

An officer on patrol in the area of Cornell Avenue and Princeton Avenue noted at 3:24 a.m. that the right rear-door window of a Jeep Cherokee was broken and the left rear door was pried open from the top. The owner of the vehicle, after being notified, said a black and tan Coach purse was missing, along with $70 in cash, a driver's license and an American Express credit card.
A victim reported at 8:43 a.m. that a vehicle had been broken into in the 200 block of Cornell Avenue. No damage was visible to the vehicle, but a GPS unit was missing.
A victim reported at 11:08 a.m. that an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of Cornell Avenue was entered overnight and a brown hard briefcase was missing from the vehicle.
Police took a report at 11:02 a.m. of an unlocked vehicle being entered overnight on Harvard Avenue and a GPS unit missing.
Police took a report of a vehicle break-in in the 100 block of Cornell Avenue. Someone entered the vehicle and went through the belongings but nothing was reported missing.
Monday, Jan. 2
Police took a report of a vehicle break-in in the area of Wellington Heights. Tools were reported missing from a van.
