North Hills Churches Offer Fish Fry through the Lenten Season
Several churches throughout the North Hills will have fish fries through the end of Lent, April 7. Here's a guide to where, when, menus and prices. We also want to know your favorite Lenten season recipe.
Lent began Wednesday, and many will abstain from eating meat products on Fridays—or through the entire season, which ends April 7, the Saturday before Easter.
To help those home cooks—and encourage a sense of community in the effort—local churches are offering the traditional weekly fish fries. Below is a listing of where and when you can purchase dinners and sandwiches—whether you're celebrating Lent or just looking for a yummy meal.
We'd also like to know what other favorite recipes you have in your family cookbooks for the Lenten season. Do you have a winning fish-fry batter? A to-die-for pierogie recipe? A favorite soup or vegetable dish?
