Car Crashes into Building in Perkiomen Township

Driver reportedly lost control of vehicle

A teen girl and her brother suffered minor injuries after the car the girl was driving crashed into the Office Tavern's exterior wall, Thursday, May 10, shortly before 7 a.m.

According to Trooper Kenneth Noto, the girl -- whose identity has not been released because she is a minor -- was traveling north on Route 29 when she saw a pickup truck exiting the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. The truck was not in her lane, but the vehicle's front was on the double yellow line in the center of the road. Thinking that the truck might pull out, the girl "jammed on the car's brakes and lost control of the vehicle," careening into the side of the building, Noto said.

The girl bit her lip and her brother, who was a passenger in the back seat, had a small shoulder injury. Neither required transport to the hospital.
