Local Club Declares War on Glossophobia—No Fear Allowed!
Conquer Your Fear of Public Speaking in a Fun, Supportive Environment at Collegeville Toastmasters

In a cozy corner of Trappe, PA, a brave group gathers twice a month to fight one of humanity’s greatest fears—not zombies, not tax season, but public speaking. That’s right! Glossophobia, the technical term for the fear of speaking in front of an audience, affects a whopping 75% of the population. More people fear public speaking than spiders, heights, or even death—meaning, as comedian Jerry Seinfeld once put it, most folks would rather be in the casket than delivering the eulogy!
Enter Collegeville Toastmasters, part of Toastmasters International, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024 and now boasts over 14,000 clubs across 150 countries. This dynamic group helps members kick anxiety to the curb in a fun, supportive environment filled with laughter, learning, and the occasional tongue-twister.
Meeting every second and fourth Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., the club runs like a well-oiled machine—but without the stiffness of a corporate boardroom. Guests are warmly welcomed, and the evening unfolds with prepared speeches, constructive feedback, and Table Topics—a lively, impromptu speaking challenge that keeps everyone on their toes (and occasionally in stitches).
