Montgomery County Man Killed Girlfriend With Hammer: DA
The man left a nearby bar just before the killing, a criminal complaint states.

PERKIOMEN TOWNSHIP, PA — A Montgomery County man killed his girlfriend with a hammer in their home over the weekend, the district attorney said.
William Carey, 46, is charged with first degree murder and additional counts.
The incident occurred on Nov. 2 at around 1:25 a.m. at their home in Perkiomen Township, on Gravel Pike.

The victim, Jessica Zipkin, 34, was struck in the back of a head, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office determined. The hammer was recovered next to her body, authorities said.
Carey had been at a nearby bar, the Duck Inn, just before the killing, according to a criminal complaint.

A neighbor reported hearing a man and a woman screaming around the time of the crime, the complaint states.
Further circumstances leading up to the event were not immediately made clear.
Carey was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 13.
