Post-Prom Open House This Saturday

Volunteers still needed for event

Perkiomen Valley School District released the following information:

The Perkiomen Valley School District community is invited to see how will be transformed into the city of Las Vegas during a community walk-through of the Post-Prom Party on Saturday, May 19, from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The walk-through is the perfect opportunity for community members – whether they have high school students or not – to see what the Post-Prom Party is all about and how it benefits the entire community. The event is designed to provide a safe, fun alternative for students who want to continue celebrating after the prom has ended. The post-prom event is open to all juniors and seniors, regardless of whether or not they attend the prom, and is free.

Participants will get a sneak preview of the party before the students arrive later in the evening. This year’s theme is “A Night in Las Vegas,” and the event will feature casino-style game tables, inflatables, arcade games, jewelry-making, a hypnotist/comedy show, laser tag, a caricaturist, and many more fun activities, along with food and prizes to be raffled off through the evening.

Last year, approximately 375 students attended the post-prom event. Perkiomen Valley School District has been offering the post-prom event since 2001. More than $20,000 is raised annually for the event, and hundreds of volunteers are needed to help organize it.
