TRAPPE, PA — The widow of a state police trooper from Montgomery County who was killed in the line of duty this spring has given birth to the couple's new baby girl.

Brynn Tyler Sisca came into the world this week, and local first responders were there to welcome mom and child back to their Trappe community.

"We are happy to say baby Sisca and Mom are doing fantastic," the Trappe Fire Company No. 1 posted to Facebook on Thursday. "Branden, we will always keep her safe Chief."

Sisca, 29, was a rookie Pennsylvania State Police trooper who was killed back in March by a speeding driver.

At the time of his death, Sisca and fellow Trooper Martin F. Mack, III, were attempting to assist a stranded pedestrian along Interstate 95 in Philadelphia by the sports stadiums complex.

All three men — the troopers and the pedestrian — were killed in the crash.

On Thursday, the Trappe Fire Company posted photos on its Facebook page showing area firefighters and members of the Pennsylvania State Police escorting mom Brittany Sisca, and little baby Brynn Tyler Sisca, home from Einstein Hospital.

The post got much feedback from community members.

"This is the most beautiful thing," wrote Christine Jackson Milos. "Thank you for taking care of Brynn and her gorgeous mama. Branden is looking down on his girls so incredibly proud."

At the time of Sisca's death, he was also serving as the chief of the all-volunteer Trappe Fire Company, having only attained that rank recently, even though he was a member of the department since he was 16 years old.

Following his death, members of the fire company spoke with Patch about the impact Sisca had during his short time on this earth.

In related news this week, the woman charged in connection with the deaths of Sisca and Mack had third-degree murder charges against her dropped by a local judge during a preliminary hearing last week, but the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office immediately turned around and refiled the charges.

The suspect, 22-year-old Jayana Webb of Eagleville, Montgomery County, is accused of driving under the influence at the time she struck and killed Sisca, Mack and the pedestrian, identified as Reyes Rivera Oliveras, 28, of Allentown, Pa.

She is facing numerous criminal charges in connection with the March 21 incident.
