Event: Display Your Dahlias
The Greater Pittsburgh Dahlia Society's annual show comes to Trax Farms this weekend. Entries begin at 6 a.m. Saturday.

For more than 70 years, the Greater Pittsburgh Dahlia Society (GPDS) held its annual show at Monroeville Mall, but this year, for the first time, the show comes to .
From 2-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, you can join the flowering festivities!
The GPDS is excited to share its tradition, as one of the premiere dahlia societies in the Midwest, with the “rich traditions” of Trax Farms, a release states.

There will be 19 forms of the flower, including formal decorative, cactus, water lily, balls, etc. An array of colors will be present—white, yellow, orange, purple, pink, lavender and red, just to name a few. Ten different sizes of dahlias will be showcased.
The GPDS members enter their blooms in various categories, according to a release. They hope to not only win blue ribbons, but have their entry go to the Court of Honor, which garners a cash prize…and bragging rights!

There is a novice category for members new to exhibiting, and a junior category for anyone 16 and under.
Staging for the entries begins at 6 a.m. Saturday, until noon. Judging begins promptly at 12:30 p.m.
