FBI To Provide Online Child Exploitation Prevention Tips To Peters
FBI Pittsburgh is coming to Peters Township High School to advise parents and teachers how to keep children safe when online.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA — FBI Pittsburgh officials will meet Tuesday with educators and parents at Peters Township High School to warn them about online child exploitation dangers and the potentially increased risk among children who are spending more time online.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
FBI Pittsburgh special agents and analysts who investigate and track trends in violent crimes against children, child exploitation matters and look at the drug landscape will talk with parents and give them tips on how to keep their digital footprint safe.

The presentation will include a review of the latest technology offenders are using to target and manipulate kids, examples of how technology has been used and how to protect local youth from being targeted by online predators.
Educators and parents are will be encouraged to register students for the 2022-2023 FBI Safe Online Surfing Internet Challenge (FBI SOS)—a free, interactive program that can be played at home or in the classroom. Lessons range from web terminology and password security, to safeguarding personal information, identifying online predators, good virtual citizenship and more.
