PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA — Public school teachers in southwestern Pennsylvania can make vastly different salaries, depending on which school district they work for. Most top school districts in Pennsylvania pay their teachers a salary of $100,000 or more on average, making the state one of the best in the nation for teacher salaries, according to Pittsburgh-based data analysis company Niche.

Several in Southwestern Pennsylvania top $100,000 as well. Peters, ranked the Pittsburgh area's 10th-best school district, pays its teachers an average of $83,938.
