Peters Mom 'Does It All' With Great Humor, Without Fear

PETERS, PA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Dianne Wilk who nominated Jessica Buczkowski-Henderson of Peters.

What makes this mom extra special?

Jessica, my niece, is fearless and tireless, patient, kind, and always up for a good time. I am beyond amazed at how she never loses her cool and snaps at the kids. Instead, she sees the silliness of her children as exactly what it is — an opportunity to be playful with your five children despite working as a nurse and teaching nursing.

She manages to cook, clean and get the grocery shopping done with a military husband who is only home on the weekends. Plus, they have a dog and several cats. Her mom has dementia and her father (my brother) has had medical complications so now Jessica is taking care of her mom while her father recuperates. Who can do ALL that and be an amazing mom?

Why do you feel this mom deserves the spotlight?

As I said she is tireless and yet manages to "do it all" with great humor, lots of love and patience to all, and can still keep it all together. When people get tired, they often are neglectful or have a short temper — or worse turn to destructive behaviors — yet she keeps it all together.
