Peters Township Hockey Players Chosen for All-Academic Team

To qualify, student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA and be nominated by their coaches.

Five Peters Township hockey players have been named to the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) All-Academic Teams.

Peters Township senior and forward Trevor Recketnewald was named to the U18 All-Academic Team.

Peters Township sophomore and forward Adam Alavi; sophomore and forward Sam Barnes; sophomore and defenseman Carter Ekberg; and freshman and forward Luc Lavella were named to the U16 All-Academic Team.

To qualify, student-athletes must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the 2012-13 school year and be nominated by their coaches.

Ten members of the Pittsburgh Viper Stars Midget Major (U18) club and 11 members of the Midget Minor (U16) club were chosen.

The Pittsburgh Viper Stars is a member of the North Hills Amateur Hockey Association and offers a Tier I AAA full‐season travel ice hockey program in western Pennsylvania and the tri‐state area.

The NAPHL begins its fifth season in 2013-14 and is composed of teams from across North America.
