Pittsburgh World Affairs Council to Present Global Threat Panel Discussion

The program will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Peters Township Public Library.

A program will be offered at to discuss concerns of viable security threats against the U.S., despite withdrawal of troops from Iraq and the death of Osama bin Laden.

With the ongoing upheaval in the Middle East, the continuing conflict in Afghanistan and the unpredictability of Iran and Pakistan, the United States faces a multitude of national security challenges, a release states.

The program, in collaboration with the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 7-8:30 p.m.

Panelists from the United States Army War College Eisenhower Series College Program will be present.

How will the U.S. strengthen existing alliances and forge new partnerships in an effort to remain secure? What are the implications of these security threats for America’s future foreign policy decisions? How will the U.S. balance national security priorities with the domestic agenda amidst a recovering economy and social unrest? Learn about the pressing international security issues facing the U.S. from military officers at the U.S. Army War College who have first-hand experience of military operations and strategy at home and abroad.
