Police Wound Suspect Accused Of Shooting Into Monongahela Bar: Reports

Jonathan Toth made threats at Main Street Tavern​ in Monongahela​ before returning with a rifle and beginning to shoot, reports said.

MONONGAHELA, PA — Police shot a man who made threats at Main Street Tavern in Monongahela before he fired several times into the bar and once at a nearby vehicle following an argument overnight Saturday, according to multiple reports.

The man, Jonathan Toth, is accused of telling patrons as he and his wife left that he was going to get a knife and "gut everybody" before returning with a rifle and beginning to shoot, according to WPXI.

Eight people were inside the bar when the shots were fired, but there have not been any reports of injuries, WTAE reported.

Police said they shot at Toth when he got in a car and ignored police commands to stop, WTAE reported. According to WXPI, Toth was hit on the right side of his body.

Toth then took off in his car before police stopped him in Forward Township, the outlet reported.

Toth was hospitalized and is expected to face several charges in connection with the shooting, according to both outlets.
