Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Region

Peters Township is expected to receive 2-4 inches of snow.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for our area through the weekend.

Starting 6 p.m. through 6 a.m. Sunday, Peters Township and Washington County are under an advisory, according to the National Weather Service. 

The area is expected to receive 2-4 inches of snow—which will fall in two episodes.

The first, this evening, will make untreated pavements snow-covered and slippery. The second snow is expected to fall Saturday into Saturday night adding accumulation. 

The NWS said gusty winds—up to 35 mph—may cause blowing snow and near-zero wind chills by Saturday night.

Temperatures are expected to hover in the mid-20s.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that snowfall will cause travel difficulties. The NWS remindes motorists to be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility.
