81-Year-Old PA Woman Dies In Early Morning Fire That Destroyed Home: Officials
The blaze consumed a home in Cecil Township and had spread to a nearby farmhouse. Firefighters were on scene for more than 5 hours.
CECIL TWP., PA — An 81-year-old woman died after a fire Tuesday morning in Washington County, officials said.
The fire broke out shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Swihart Road near PA-980, fire officials said.
Firefighters arrived to find a two-story house and had spread to a nearby farmhouse, according to Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Company #2. Crews were on scene for five and a half hours, the fire company said.

Firefighters found the woman's body in the burned-down home.
The county coroner's office identified her as Rose Churray, according to WTAE.

No one in the other home was injured, WTAE reported.
Churray's son told WTAE his mother was renting the house, and lived alone.
The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Other fire companies who responded included Muse, North Strabane, Lawrence, Canonsburg, and Peters Township.
