Now You Can Check Out A Roku Player At Phoenixville Library
The Phoenixville Library now has 3 Roku Express media players that provide access to Netflix and Disney+ for cardholders, at $1 a day.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Cardholders at Phoenixville Public Library can now check out streaming media players that can give them access to movies on Netflix and Disney+.
The Phoenixville Public Library is now circulating Roku Express streaming media players that connect directly to a TV and provide access to Netflix and Disney+ and the Roku Channel.
The devices are available for checkout by Chester County Library System cardholders for either three days or seven days, for a rental fee of $1 a day. The devices are perfect for those who want to stream movies, shows, live news, kids’ TV, and more without needing to purchase a Netflix or Disney+ subscription.

Phoenixville Library's Director of Adult Service, Mark Pinto, said "This is a new offering for us. The devices are loaded with subscriptions to Netflix and Disney+, plus its own Roku Channel, and connect directly to a TV with the provided USB cable." He explained a Wi-Fi signal is also needed.

"We’re giving patrons the opportunity to try out these popular streaming services without them needing to purchase their own subscriptions or a smart TV. It's perfect for trips and vacations," Pinto said.

Movies on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s film discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet in person on Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m. outside at The Foodery, 325 Bridge Street, Phoenixville.

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free virtual presentation, “Down by the Railroad: Railroad Stations and Terminals”, on Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. Troy Grubb of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania will be the presenter.
Whether grand or small, stations were and, in some cases, continue to be the lifeblood of towns and cities. During the heyday of railroading, stations and the people who worked in them kept the trains running safely and efficiently.
