Phoenixville Firebird Festival Seeks T-Shirt Design

Sylvia will burn once again- and all are invited to design a T-shirt about it

The annual Phoenixville Firebird Festival, despite threats of cancellation, is a go for its 12th year, and is set to take place Dec. 5. Now, the organizers of the festival are looking for a new T-shirt design.

According to the organizers, those with an idea for a T-shirt design can submit it to phoenixvillefirebirdfestival@gmail.com prior to the August 30 deadline. Public voting on the design will then run through Sept. 11.

The annual festival, a Phoenixville tradition since 2004, involves the burning of a 24-foot Firebird named Sylvia, meant to represent the “rebirth” of the city.

While safety concerns had threatened the festival’s future, the Borough Council approved its continued existence last month. They are considering adding a concrete slab, for future festivals.
