Allegheny County Coronavirus Cases Grow By 114 On Thursday

PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny County Health Department on Thursday announced another 114 cases of the new coronavirus were reported between Wednesday and Thursday, bringing the county's total to 9,192.

The county on Thursday also reported 17 new hospitalizations with all patients older than 65-years-old.

In Allegheny County, five more deaths were reported for a period between July 27 and Aug. 12. Of them, two people are in their 80s, two are in their 90s, and one was 100-years-old or older.

All the newly reported deaths are connected to long-term care facilities, the county reported.

Cases by age group:

• 0 to 4-years-old: 1
• 5 to 12-years-old: 3
• 13 to 18-years-old: 17
• 19 to 24-years-old: 11
• 25 to 49-years-old: 27
• 50 to 64-years-old: 26
• 65-years-old and older: 29

New cases by gender:

• Female: 64
• Male: 50

With 1,586 cases in Westmoreland County, 1,351 in Beaver County, 842 in Washington County and 649 in Butler County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county region to 13,620 when Allegheny County numbers are included.

According to the state Department of Health, there have been 448 deaths in the region from the virus: 278 in Allegheny County, 93 in Beaver County, 47 in Westmoreland
County, 16 in Butler County and 14 in Washington County.
