Here's Where To Recycle Your Christmas Tree Around Pittsburgh
There are numerous locations where you can drop off your Christmas tree to be productively re-used. Patch provides the details.
PITTSBURGH, PA — It's a sad thought, but you can't keep your Christmas tree standing forever. Eventually you will have to get rid of it.
If you're looking for a constructive way to do so, you might want to consider the Allegheny County Parks Department's annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program. During the 2024-2025 program, over 4,000 trees were received and recycled, with the resulting mulch used for various purposes throughout the park system’s 12,000+ acres.
This year's program runs from Dec. 26 through Jan 18 at all nine county parks. The drop-off hours are from 8 a.m. until dusk daily.
