Eldery Woman Struck By SUV In Pittsburgh Suburb

An elderly woman was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street Tuesday morning.

ASPINWALL, PA — An elderly woman was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning as she crossed a street near UPMC St. Margaret hospital.

At 7:01 a.m., Allegheny County 911 was notified of a pedestrian hit by an SUV in the intersection of Freeport and Delafield roads. First responders found the woman and took her to the hospital in critical condition.

Preliminary information indicates the woman was crossing Delafield Road toward St. Margaret Drive when the vehicle making a left hand turn from Freeport Road onto Delafield Road struck her.

The driver of the SUV remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities.
