Emergency Shuts Down Major Pittsburgh Highway
Pittsburgh's morning rush hour is chaotic due to an emergency situation, PennDOT said.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Due to a vehicle fire, the eastbound Parkway East is closed to traffic at the at he Bates Street on-ramp, forcing traffic to get off at the Oakland/Forbes Avenue (Exit 72A) exit. Additionally, to accommodat emergency vehicles responding to the incident there is a single lane
closure on westbound I-376 in the same area, at the Oakland off-ramp (Exit 73B).
Traffic heading eastbound on the Parkway West/Fort Pitt Bridge is being detoured at the Grant Street Exit (Exit 71A). Eastbound traffic coming from the Parkway North will continue to detour at theOakland/Forbes Avenue (Exit 72A) exit.
