Fast Casual Chicken Restaurant Chain Expanding Into PA

If you're a fan of fiery chicken sandwiches, you'll welcome this restaurant chain to Pennsylvania.

PENNSYLVANIA — Angry Chickz, a California-based chicken restaurant chain, plans to expand its operation into the Keystone State this year.

The company announced Tuesday it was partnering with May Brands, which operates multiple Dunkin and Jersey Mike's franchises, to multiple communities in Pennsylvania. Specific locations were not disclosed.

“We’re elated to bring Angry Chickz to our portfolio and to introduce their unique brand of Nashville hot chicken to the East Coast and Pennsylvania,” Eric May of May Brands said in a release.

Founded in 2018 by David Mkhitaryan, Angry Chickz is a Nashville hot chicken brand with 28 current locations, all in California. The restaurant's website said it specializes in fiery chicken sandwiches, tenders and macaroni and cheese.

Angry Chickz has earned national recognition, including being named Nation’s Restaurant News “2024 Hot New Concept” and featured in QSR’s “Ones to Watch” and QSR’s 40 Under 40: America’s Hottest Startup Fast Casuals. Additionally, the brand was proudly listed among Fast Casual 2024’s “20 Brands to Watch.”
