Fatal Fire Occurs In Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman died and a man was badly injured Thursday morning in a fire in South New Castle Township in Lawrence County.

The fire was broke out around 6 a.m. in a residence on Good Avenue, WTAE-TV reported.

Officials told WPXI-TV that the woman was in a bedroom and was not able to escape the blaze. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the woman who died has not yet been released.

The condition of the man who was injured was not immediately available.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
