Major Celebrity To Participate In New Pittsburgh Airport Terminal Debut
A famous movie star will participate in activities as Pittsburgh International Airport prepares to open its new terminal.

FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA — Pittsburgh International Airport is bringing in a famous native son and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to help usher in its new terminal.
Jeff Goldblum, originally from the city's West Homestead suburb, will perform along with the symphony at an Oct. 3 event inside the new terminal. An official opening date has yet to be announced.
“I’m more than thrilled and delighted to be part of this glorious event back in my beloved hometown," Goldblum told Blue Sky News, the airport's news website. "What a jazzy dream come true – there’s no place like home."

Goldblum, 72, has starred in movies that include "Wicked," "Independence Day," "Jurassic Park," and "The Fly."
“We’re proud to have both the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Jeff Goldblum perform at the gala as part of our opening series of events," airport CEO Christina Cassotis said in a statement.

Goldblum will perform at the performance with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra,jazz band that he launched 30 years ago.
Goldblum graduated from the former West Mifflin North High School in 1970.
The new $1.7 billion terminal promises to provide additional parking, shorter waits at security checkpoints and baggage claim, and outdoor plazas where people can relax before boarding their flights.
It will replace the current Landside Terminal, which opened in 1992 and is plagued with antiquated equipment and technology, frequent security checkpoint bottlenecks and an inconvenient layout.
