Man Dead In Western PA Officer-Involved Shooting
Police shot and killed a man in a Western Pennsylvania township Tuesday night.
FAYETTE COUNTY, PA — A Redstone Township man is dead after being shot by police on Tuesday night.
The Pennsylvania State Police said Redstone police responded to a home on Lyndale Road shortly after 9 p.m. for a welfare check on a suicidal man. Upon arriving, officers "came in contact with the man," state police stated in a release Wednesday.
The man was treated by medics at the scene but died from his wounds shortly thereafter.

The man was identified as Christopher Hackney, 27.
State police said Redstone Township officers were involved in the shooting but did not indicate what led up to it.
