The Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society said members of its club were among those killed in the crash. The club did not identify the names of the members killed in the crash.

The airplane collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter at 8:47 p.m. Wednesday near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Divers are still attempting to recover bodies from the plane, whose wreckage is located in the waters of the Potomac River.

The crash took the lives of Russian skaters, a U.S. figure skating coach, union members, Army soldiers, and multiple Virginia students.

U.S. Figure Skating on Thursday confirmed that several of its members were on Flight 5342. They were athletes, coaches and family members, the organization said.

"We are devastated by this unspeakable tragedy and hold the victims' families closely in our hearts," U.S. Figure Skating said in a statement.
