PA Turnpike Prepares For Easter Weekend Traffic Surge
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has issued its traffic projections for the four-day Easter weekend.
PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is predicting a slight increase in traffic this Easter weekend compared to the same holiday weekend last year.
About 2.18 million motorists on the toll road during the four-day holiday weekend. The projection is a 1.5 percent increase compared to the same holiday period last year.
Daily turnpike traffic projections for the holiday period are as follows:

- Friday, April 18: 610,000
- Saturday, April 19: 480,000
- Sunday, April 20: 500,000
- Monday, April 21: 590,000
- Projected total: 2,180,000
To ensure as many travel lanes are open as possible, turnpike maintenance and construction crews will suspend all work beginning at 5 a.m. on Thursday until 11 p.m. on Monday. Turnpike personnel will have increased patrols on the roadway, along with the Pennsylvania State Police.
Motorists should dial *11 via mobile phone to get support or report an incident or other emergency on the turnpike.

Turnpike Commission officials also are reminding motorists they will never receive a text from the turnpike for unpaid tolls after they travel. Motorists can safely access accounts through the PA Toll Pay App or their E-ZPass account to manage their account activity.
