Penguins' Malkin Burglary Update: Valuable Items Found
Allegheny County police have provided an update on the burglary at Penguins' star Evgeni Malkin's home.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Evgeni Malkin's three Stanley Cup rings, missing since his Sewickley Heights home was burglarized last Saturday, were discovered inside the house on Thursday, Allegheny County police said.
Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The burglary occurred while the Penguins were playing the Ottawa Senators at PPG Paints Arena. No one was in the home at the time.

Malkin has not spoken publicly about the incident. But The Athletic reported his home security system was dismantled, a safe was open and the rings from the Penguins' 2009, 2016 and 2017 Stanley Cup-winning teams — were missing.
The FBI recently warned sports leagues about crime organizations targeting the homes of professional athletes following a series of burglaries at the homes of several high-profile NFL and NBA players.

Among the more prominent victims have been Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, both of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.
County police said they are in contact with impacted law enforcement agencies.
"At this time, detectives have not received any information indicating this incident is tied to any of the reported organizations targeting professional athletes across the country," police said in a statement. "However, this remains an active investigation.
