Penn State's Beaver Stadium Renamed

A central Pennsylvania company has purchased the naming rights to Penn State's iconic Beaver Stadium.

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA — Penn State's football team will now play at West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium after a Mechanicsburg home improvement company acquired naming rights to the storied venue.

Penn State trustees approved the $50 million deal in a 22-8 vote. The new name takes effect for the 2025 season and will run through the 2039 season.

“We are incredibly grateful to West Shore Home for this game-changing gift as their commitment to Penn State Athletics and the institution will have a lasting impact on our student-athletes, fans and community,” Patrick Kraft, the university's vice president for intercollegiate athletics, said in a statement.

“West Shore is proud to be founded and based in Pennsylvania and this partnership with Penn State is an exciting opportunity for our company,” said B.J. Werzyn, West Shore Home founder and CEO and a Penn State graduate.

The naming rights deal comes amid an ongoing $700 million renovation of Beaver Stadium, named after James Beaver, the former acting president of Penn State and the 20th governor of Pennsylvania.

Work currently is progressing on both the east and west sides of the stadium. Micropiling has begun on the west side in preparation for the construction of the PAM Health Misitano Family Tower, suite levels, expanded concourses and elevator/stair towers on the perimeter. In addition, 7,900 temporary bleacher seats will be installed on top of the suite level, along with temporary concession and restroom amenities for the coming season.

On the east side, expansion of the main concourse is under way as well as maintenance projects to repair some of the stadium's aging elements.
