Pirates' Paul Skenes 1-Of-1 Debut Card Found By Kid Collector

A valuable one-of-a-kind Paul Skenes baseball card estimated to be worth six figures has been found by an 11-year-old.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pirates have proposed a major trade with an 11-year-old collector in Los Angeles who has snagged a one-of-a-kind baseball card featuring National League Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes.

Topps announced Tuesday that the card, which features the superstar pitcher’s autograph and a patch from a game-worn jersey, had been found. The card's whereabouts had been unknown since its release on Nov. 13.

The card already has been estimated to be worth six figures, but the Pirates have put together an impressive package for it. The team wasted no time in reiterating its offer that already was on the table in exchange for the rarity:

There was no word on whether the card collector was seriously considering the offer.

Skenes, 22, finished third in NL Cy Young Award voting following his sensational rookie season that saw him start for the National League in Major League Baseball's All-Star Game. He finished the season with an 11-3 record and a 1.96 ERA in 23 games.
