Pittsburgh Airport: Hourly Guide To New Terminal Opening

FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA — Pittsburgh International Airport is about to transition from the 32-year-old Landside Terminal to a spectacular new $1.7 billion new terminal.

The official opening of the new terminal is on Tuesday, but the switch from the old to the new terminal will begin on Monday. Here's what you can expect:

MONDAY

• 7:20 p.m.: British Airways Flight 171 From London's Heathrow Airport will be the last international arrival through the existing egress.

• 7:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.: The switchover to the airport's new roadway system will occur, with new permanent overhead roadway entry signage installed.

• 9 p.m.-9:30 p.m.: Last passengers will go through the existing Landside TSA security checkpoint.

• 9 p.m.-9:30 p.m.: Last bags go onto the existing outbound bag belt.

• 9:15 p.m.: British Airways Flight 170 to London's Heathrow Airport will be the last international departure.

• 9:55 p.m.: Southern Flight 239 to DuBois will be terminal's last domestic departure.

• 10:30 p.m.: TSA departs the Landside security checkpoint for the final time.

• 11 p.m.: Gate closure occurs at TSA Landside security checkpoint.

TUESDAY

• 12:21 a.m.: Delta Flight 1351 from Atlanta will be the current terminal's last domestic arrival.

• 12:30 - 1:30 a.m.: Honorary last passenger train Airside to Landside stickers will be distributed.

• 1 a.m.-1:30 a.m. Last passenger train rides from Airside to Landside will occur.

• 2 a.m. (approximately): The public roadway to the new terminal opens and the roadway to the old terminal closes.

• 2:30 a.m.: The train deactivates.

• 3 a.m.: New terminal check-in begins.

• 5:12 a.m.: First domestic arrival at new terminal: United Flight 794 from San Francisco.

• 5:30 a.m.: First domestic departure: Southwest Flight 1841 to Denver.
