PITTSBURGH, PA — After a week of temperatures significantly below normal, the weather is warming up. Rain is arriving also with the higher temperatures and the precipitation will bring a risk for flooding in the Pittsburgh area.
According to the National Weather Service, a low pressure system will move into the region by Friday and will bring between three-quarters of an inch to 1.5 inches of rain by early Saturday afternoon.
"With the warmer temperatures, the snowpack in place, and the threat of ice jams, there is a legitimate threat of flooding," the weather service stated on X Wednesday evening.
