Pittsburgh-Area Official Arrested In Prostitution Sting

A high-profile Pittsburgh-area public official was busted attempting to purchase sex, authorities said.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA — A prominent Washington County official is facing charges related to a prostitution-related sting in Youngstown, Ohio.

Patrick Geho, 55, the Washington County public affairs director, allegedly responded to an undercover ad and arranged for an encounter, according to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, who announced the arrest. Geho was charged in Columbiana County Municipal Court with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools.

The arrest, which occurred on March 7, was made by Ohio's human trafficking task force.

"Every day and in every area of our state, people from all walks of life are buying sex, and not from willing participants,” Yost said in a statement. “The criminal behavior of coercion and extortion
fuels the demand for human trafficking and continues the cycle. Without demand, traffickers don’t have clients and don’t need victims.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Geho has been the county's public affairs director since January 2024. Prior to that, he served as five years as first assistant to Washington County Commissioner Nick Sherman.

Geho also has run his own consulting firm and worked as a legislative liaison between the Pennsylvania Department of State and the General Assembly, served as the executive director of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce and worked as an aide to former U.S. Rep. Melissa Hart.

“I’ll say it again: Don’t buy sex in Ohio,” Yost said. “If you do, you might end up being arrested by our task forces."
