Pittsburgh Being Pummeled By Winter Storm
Here's the latest information on the winter storm that has impacted Western Pennsylvania this morning.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A winter storm is wreaking havoc in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania this morning.
According to the National Weather Service, as of 7 a.m., the region has seen up to four inches so far with heavy snow still coming down. The heaviest snowfall should end in the Pittsburgh area no later than and 11 a.m., although snow showers could linger through the area into the afternoon.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. with an additional two to five inches of snow expected.

Due to the storm, PennDOT has temporarily reduced the speed limit on several roadways in the region. The agency is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following Allegheny County highways:
· Interstates 79, 376 (Parkways East and West), 279 (Parkway North), and 579

Dozens of school districts have either delayed or canceled classes today. The Pittsburgh Public Schools, the state's second-largest school district, initially announced a delay but have now canceled classes.
