Pittsburgh Mall Getting Indoor Pickleball Center
The mall's new pickleball center will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
MONROEVILLE, PA — The first major change coming to Monroeville Mall since its purchase by Walmart will be an indoor pickleball court facility that will be open 24 hours a day.
Pickle Parlor is set to open soon in The District section of the mall in the former Ulta Beauty store next to Red Robin. The Pittsburgh Business Times first reported the news.
According to its Facebook page, Pickle Parlor will use an app-based reservation system to allow players to schedule games whenever it's convenient for them. The center promises a high-tech experience with digital scoring, on-screen replays and personalized game settings.

The pickeball courts have slip-resistant surfaces and have been designed with regulation out-of-bounds zones. The courts come with double-density honeycomb foam base layers for enhanced shock absorption.
The center plans to host pickleball tournaments and already is soliciting meetings with coaches interested in offering classes and lessons.
